Well "hell" what a weekend !! What with broken boats, broken ropes and broken cameras the sailing action was pretty good too. Click "details" and I will tell all. The latest images are now up to see just click the "PICASA" header above or HERE to see them. "CH MARINE" sponsored this years 1720 Nationals. The resurgence of this class has been on going from both RCYC and BSC sailors, and it saw a 14 boat fleet start out on Thursday and Friday with 5 races sailed. On Saturday the top 6 boats were all in contention for victory. I was happy to do my bit too, by being on the race commitee as a mark laying boat and getting some close up photography into the package. It all kicked off after the start of the second race when two unatended support boats broke their line and drifted up onto the rocks next to Trabolgan beach. within minuets (we) both race course ribs went into action, and finding a shot pier were able to get access to the now smashed rib and power boat. We were able to get both boats of the rocks within 45 mins, but not before a great deel of damage was done .And in the procsess swamping my rib towing them off and being up to my "chest" in salt water. There are no Images of saturdays racing or prize giving (sorry) due to the swamping, destroying completely all of my camera gear . My thanks go to Patrick Williams,Nicki Pope and Mick Collins for all the help "we" were able to achieve, for these two boats and their owners. The final results were 1st Mark Mansfeild 2nd Anthony O'Leary 3rd Nin O'Leary. I'm not sure when!, but mainsheetimages will be back soon with new photography. Cheers Paul Keal......
